IMG_3880(copy)I have recently returned to Ireland after a year away were I was working in the Chicago Design Museum. On my return I traveled home through central and south America. The design museum was a non-profit organisation which meant that there was few people working there and those who where, had many roles. This meant I had a lot of roles including being part of a team that redesigned the museum space for a traveling exhibition of Dan Friedman’s work. I oversaw the experience of the retail space and managed the building of structures for the exhibit.

While in the museum I worked with the designer Matthew Terdich who always approached his work in a respectful and considerate manner. When looking at his work he would always be considering balance, harmony and movement. His real strong card was his understanding and translation of typography, an area I was keen to learn more about and continue to improve.

When you look at the variety of my work you will see I strive to create holistic experiences by creating multilayered products. In particular you will notice my final year project Solace Cooking which was directed by a wide range of research and development. I am very inspired by the whole process that is involved in researching an idea and discovering concepts.I maintain a curious mind set and like to permanently hold a creative question that constantly looks at ‘ why not?’.With the development of my design intuition I am able to quickly jump from a curious mind set to a more rational thought process to produce refined concepts quickly. I like working on contrasting and diverse projects because it nurtures elastic thinking.I am diverse in my skill set and have the ability to adapt quickly.
